"...I want my clients to live the pain free life!"

Why did you choose to focus on chronic pain with massage therapy?

Watching friends and family experience ongoing challenges with chronic pain, as well as my own experience taught me that there was a huge gap somewhere in the healthcare system on addressing the root cause of pain and eliminating them with long term results. When I began focusing on treating clients who were experiencing chronic muscular pain issues and they were finding long term relief, I knew that I could make a huge impact on a very important issue in people’s lives.

The more clients I saw that weren’t having a positive experience through other rehabilitation options the more I was convinced that there was a missing piece in our viewpoint and treatment of chronic pain. Our bodies are meant to have the ability to heal itself and have pain free functionality. When we stop masking pain symptoms and treat the root cause of a problem, as well as establish a prevention plan to incorporate into everyday life, a healthy and pain free body is the result.

Who are your clients exactly?

During my time in practice, I have worked with a wide variety of clients experiencing a range of health concerns – from headaches to repetitive strain disorders, stress and anxiety to injuries from motor vehicle accidents. As my passion for chronic pain care developed, my clients have become more specific.

My clients are now women (and a few men) who are dealing with chronic aches and pains in their back, neck, and/or shoulders due to daily repetitive strain and overuse symptoms such as headaches, tendonitits, sciatica, muscle fatigue, and many more. I may be the first healthcare professional they are seeing about this concern or they may be in the middle of conventional or other rehabilitation treatments.

What makes you so different from other Registered Massage Therapists?

I address the root cause of your pain. I have chosen to devote my practice to treating women with chronic pain concerns and challenges. Because of this choice, I have decided to revolutionize the way chronic muscle pain conditions are dealt with by developing a program that can efficiently address the root cause of the pain you’re experiencing. By only treating the area that is painful we are basically sweeping your symptoms under the rug which only provides temporarily relief. I have had clients who have tried other health care options that did eliminate the pain but then in a matter of weeks or months, the symptoms came back. We need to determine the real reason why that area is hurting you, whether it be a muscular imbalance in the body or an injury from 10 years ago, and focus treatment towards fixing that problem.

I educate and involve my clients in their health care. I believe that clients should be encouraged to be involved in their health care and also be given the knowledge to help themselves prevent their own pain and injuries. By creating a personalized treatment and prevention plan, I not only provide clients help via physically treatment, but I also educate my clients on  easy home care tools and tips that they can incorporate into everyday life to  help them keep current symptoms at bay and prevent the likelihood of new injuries or concerns from popping up.

I want my clients to live the pain free life. We all have things we want from life and sometimes the state of our health gets in our way. For me, it’s not just about “getting rid of a symptom.” It’s about restoring my clients to a state of health where they can get back to living their lives and being involved and accomplishing the things that they love to do. As that saying goes, if you don’t have your health, you don’t have much. And I want my clients to have it all!

What type of people do you work best with?

I work with people who are ready for change and understand that long term pain relief, especially when it’s been present for several years, takes time and commitment to allow the body to heal and readjust to your new routine and goals. You will be expected to take an active role in your health care, to follow your treatment plan that you and I will create together, and to complete some “homework” along the way. To allow sufficient time to reach your long term health goals, clients can expect to work with me for at least   3-6 months. You will have my full support the entire way to make the changes that you need to achieve your incredibly exciting goal: to get healthy, get happy, and get on with living your best life!

What happens if you haven't worked with a client with my particular health concerns?

I have seen many different clients with many difference concerns, so chances are that I have worked with someone experiencing what you are experiencing.

If I haven’t treated a client with your particular concern, you can be assured that we can still work together. As a Registered Massage Therapist, I search for the underlying or root cause of your pain and treatment is geared towards eliminating this issue which in turn provides relief for your current pain symptoms, instead of just masking them.

If I’m not sure that I’ll be able to help you, I will absolutely refer you to another practitioner that will be better suited for you.

Is there anyone you can't help or won't work with?

I like to be certain that each person under my care is a “good fit” in terms of goals, personality, and commitment. It’s important that we see eye-to-eye on these terms, and that we are completely comfortable with each other and your treatment plan so that I can provide the most quality of care possible. After our initial phone call, if either one of us feels like we wouldn’t be a good fit then I can refer you to another practitioner.

If I became your client, what exactly would we do together?

I treat each of my clients as an individual as not all chronic pain is the same. As such, each client’s treatment plan really is just for them and is based completely on them.

Firstly we will have a complimentary initial phone consultation where, through a series of questions, I can better get to know you, your symptoms, and what your pain experience has been thus far. Having this information helps me develop a treatment plan that will be best suited towards meeting your healthcare goals. All follow-up visits will be scheduled accordingly to make sure we keep on track to achieving these goals.

Does this really work?

Yes! You will be amazed by, and incredibly proud of, the changes you will experience in working with me and applying your personal treatment plan to your life. With your dedication and my ongoing support, amazing things will happen. (See What My Clients Say to read more about the positive changes that others have experienced!)

How quickly can I expect results?

This, of course, depends on your specific situation – how long you have been experiencing symptoms or how “chronic” your health condition is. It will also depend on your level of dedication to the process and your willingness to apply all the components of your personal treatment plan to your life. That said, many clients start to experience changes within 3-4 weeks after their initial meeting! At this time, most people start to notice a decrease in severity and duration of pain symptoms, improved range of motion, better sleep patterns, as well as a reduction of other symptoms. Providing me with feedback is key to reaching your pain free goals. Be open to discussing what is working and what isn’t, and always keep in mind that achieving long term pain relief is a process that takes time and effort. And remember – it’s worth the time and the effort to find relief and start living your best life!
